3D model description

Kafka Dual SMG's from Honkai: Star Rail.

There are 2 ways that you can print and assemble the guns, each with their own advantages and disadvantages (STL files for both methods are included). One difference to note is that the complex way has a "functional" trigger.

***Note: Complex way requires 12 M4 bolts in total for both guns, (4) 35mm, (4) 30mm, (1) 25mm, (2) 16-20mm, and (1) 10mm

(1) ~7mm Outer Diameter 10mm Length spring

~5mm diameter rods for the Stock, Trigger Mechanism, and Magazine***

  1. Simple way:
    The model is sliced into 6 sections (excluding the magazine),
    and you can insert two 10mm rods to align and slightly reinforce
    the pieces.

    Advantages:
    Quicker method and results in a lighter prop.

    Disadvantages:
    Will be harder to reach several areas if planning to sand

  2. Complex way (Refer to IRL pictures and exploded view):
    The model is cut into several sections that can be assembled
    like a toy.

    Advantages:
    A lot easier to sand individual parts and you have more control
    of where supports will be. A lot easier to paint especially if you
    are spray painting as most different colored parts are their
    own individual component.

    Disadvantages:
    Slower as you have many more parts to print, and depending
    on your settings the guns may be quite a bit heavier. Requires
    M4 bolts as mentioned before.

3D printing settings

Overall length of both SMG's is ~400mm

Layer height: 0.2mm (I personally use adaptive layers with a variation of +-0.04mm)

Infill: 10%-25% (I'd recommend 25% for parts such as the handle and any parts directly attached to it for the complex way)

Walls/Perimeters: 3-5 (Recommend up to 5 for same reasons as stated above)

Tolerance: holes are made 0.2mm larger in all directions (e.g. 20mm*20mm piece fits into a 20.4*20.4mm hole OR 20mm diameter rod into a 20.4mm diameter hole)
*** 0.3mm tolerance for some parts for consideration of supports
