3D model description

This simple and easy to build project only requires neodymium ring magnets, a carbon steel shaft (non-magnetic), a threaded steel bar and nuts and washers to position the parts. It can be assembled in 1 hour easily, for the pins of 1.5cm long by 4mm diameter you can use an aluminum bar by matching them to size.

You need the following materials:

1 4mm diameter steel threaded bar: 2 pieces of approximately 11cm each are cut. It can be purchased at Leroy Merlin.

Nuts and rings for the M4 threaded bar. Can be purchased at Leroy Merlin.

1 4mm diameter carbon steel shaft: Cut a piece of approximately 10cm. It can be purchased at any model store.

1 Aluminum rod of 4mm diameter: To make 4 pins of 1.5cm long. It can be purchased at Leroy Merlin, section of profiles.

9 Ring-shaped Neodymium magnets: They break extremely easily, I recommend having more:

14 Square Neodymium magnets: break extremely easily I recommend having more:

https://www.supermagnete.es/imanes-bloque-neodimio/bloque-magnetico-10mm-10mm-3mm_Q-10-10-03-N

Otherwise the materials can be easily cut with a handsaw and miter box.

The electric motor part is not developed except for the rotor which must be mounted so that the 14 Neodymium Magnets are oriented North, South, North, South ... missing the part of the coils or electromagnets and electronic programming with Arduino, I leave it to everyone's taste, you can create a monster capable of rotating at many rpm.

Regarding the tip, it is a part that can be improved a lot, you can glue for example a thin steel plate to make it run better and faster.

I encourage you to create it, it is very nice to see. Best of luck.

You can see it on Youtube:

The U-shaped piece is designed to add 4 ring-shaped magnets to give it 4 magnetic repulsion points and improve its stability. It is worth noting that you need to cut 2 aluminum pins of 1.5cm to mount it.

It is advisable to go over the holes with a pillar drill, go over the edges of the carbon steel shaft, the edges of the aluminum pins and also the threaded rod with a file so that when assembling the parts will fit smoothly. Ring-shaped magnets will break when forced into a shaft/pin if the shaft/pin is not properly filed.

DESIGN UPDATE!!!

I add new parts for your Mendocino engine, a Hexagonal base to be mounted with 2 caps, the solar panels measures should be 39x77mm.

https://es.aliexpress.com/item/32887848113.html?spm=a2g0o.order_list.order_list_main.1066.c5ef194daltW6Q&gatewayAdapt=glo2esp

Although it says 78mm it is a lie, they measure 77mm. You need 6 but they break just like that so buy enough.

3D printing settings

Standard, filling at least 50%, for magnetic rotor 100% filling. Parts easy to print.
