3D model description

This file includes a full model and a 2 part split version for easier printing.

This model features my rendition of the Norns with the thread of mortality and the well. I have also included runes which are Uruz, Eihwaz, Wunjo.

In Norse mythology, the Norns or in Old Norse Nornir, are female beings who create and control fate. This makes them the most powerful entities in the cosmos – more so than even the gods, since the gods are subject to fate just like any and all other beings.

Their names suggest their ability to construct the content of time:

One is Urd “The Past,” and a common word for fate in and of itself. She is dipicted as youthful

The second Verdandi “What Is Presently Coming into Being”. Vernandi is depicted as being mature

The third Skuld “What Shall Be”. Skuld is depicted as being of old age.

They live in a hall by a well “Well of Fate”, beneath Yggdrasil, the mighty tree at the center of the Norse otherworld, which holds the Nine Worlds in its branches and roots.

This would make a great addition to an altar, or just to display in your home or office.
