3D model description

I designed this box, because i wanted to have a case for my DJI Mini 3 Pro, which takes up as little space as possible, while still being able to carry 3 batteries, the drone and the DJI RC (with Display) and all Cases i found on the internet were too big for me.

The result is a rugged box, which is just as wide and tall as the DJI RC with the added depth of the sideways flipped drone. There is just enough space left to carry 2 additional batteries (the third battery can be left inside of the drone)

It also features a small compartment to carry spare props and the needed screwdriver. The compartment also functions as the battery lock and a lifting support for the drone, to easily remove it from the box.

The box has exact cutouts for the RC, drone and batteries, which makes the parts sit very firmly.

There are 6pcs M3x30mm screws needed for assembly, please see the pictures for the right screw direction

The overall dimension of the printed and assembled box are:

180,5mm x 132,5mm x 130mm (X - Y - Z)

UPDATE 2023.11.03:
- added a new box version with carrying handle

3D printing settings

  • The STLs already have the correct print orientation when loaded into the slicer

  • I recommend using a 0.6mm nozzle to save some printing-time, there are no tolerances which need to be extra fine (you can still use a 0.4mm nozzle tho)

  • When using 0.6mm nozzle, 2 perimeters are enough (at least 3, when using 0.4mm) and infill doesnt hs to be much higher than 10%

  • I printed all parts at a layer height of 0.3mm
