3D printing settings

  • To be printed thread up.

  • Maximize the number of perimeters (thickest walls possible) to obtain the best seal whatever the material (or even use only perimeters).

  • Increase the usual temperature by 5 to 10°C.

  • Increase flux by a few %.

  • Print in 0.1 mm layer height to ensure a good result on the threads.

Prefer the following materials for sealing (in order of preference): PP or CPE, otherwise PC, ASA, ABS.

To further improve watertightness, post-treatment with either :

  • chemical smoothing (acetone on ABS or ASA),

  • application of epoxy resin,

  • or acrylic varnish.
