3D model description

This is a 1/87 scale replica of a protein hopper rail car top. There are several dimensions available and listed below. To find out what size you need, measure the top edges of your hopper for length and width in millimeters. Measure from outer edge to outer edge! It is meant to be glued in placed on top of your existing coal cars to convert them to look like protein hoppers. There are 3 versions available in this set. The first one is the open rib structure. The second one has the look of the cover being closed on top and the last one is also a closed top but has the ribbing slightly raised. this will give you a great look if you choose to glue a piece of fabric or vinyl over the top of it. I have also included a template in .svg, .bmp, .ai and .eps file formats to help with cutting the fabric or vinyl to the proper size. Both of the closed top versions are solid and not hollowed out. If you are printing with filament and would like a hollowed out version just message me and I will make that for you!

Current sizes in this package;
166mm X 37mm
112mm X 36mm
110mm X 36mm

If you need a different size than what is listed just message me with the measurements in millimeters (outside top edges) and I will add that size to this package for you!

3D printing settings

For resin printing just lay flat on the print bed! No supports are needed. Because of the surface area this will stick to, I usually use a single edged razor blade and gently work it under the edges all the way around to get it to release from the build plate. I hardly ever use spatula or putty knives anymore. They are too clumsy and tend to chip the edges of things.
