I offer a vixen-type female dovetail for installation on EQ2 equatorial mount. It can accommodate male dovetails up to 110 mm.

The principle is simple. The dovetail is in two parts, and an M6 bolt clamps them together to secure a male dovetail.

A spacer is placed between the mount and the dovetail, and the whole is secured to the mount by two M8 bolts. There are 2 types of spacer available, each in two different sizes, for a total of 4. Their height is either 10 or 17 mm, and one is slightly thinner than the other, as their location may vary according to the mount and the type of nut used on the declination axis. .

All bolt heads are countersunk.

I advise you to choose a reinforced filling for the dovetail, 33% minimum and 70% preferred.

PET-G or ABS (carbon preferred) but definitely not PLA.

You will need :

• 2 M8x40 or M8x35 hex head bolts

• 2 M8 nuts

• 1 M6x70 hex head bolt

• 1 M6 wing nut

• 1 washer 6 (notched)

• 1 spacer from the 4 available (stl)

• Both parts of the dovetail (stl)

Other version for EQ3.1 mount.

The principle remains exactly the same and the second part of the dovetail is the same as for the EQ2.

The differences are :

• Replacement of the two M8 bolts by two M6 cylindrical hexagonal bolts (tightened with an allen key).

• No need for nuts. The bolts screw directly onto the mount.

• No spacer required.
