3D model description

These fun fidget spinners never get old. If you've got some bearings lying around (or buy some, they're cheap enough), you can 3d print your own fidget spinners.

We designed this Spiderman fanart fidget spinner for all the Marvel fanatics out there! It features a web-design of Spider-Man's iconic face in each of the three outer circles.

3d printing this super superhero spinner is simple. It's an easy print in place, and you won't need any support, brim or raft.

As for colors, that's entirely up to you. It looks great in red, blue, and also black. Better yet, if you can set your Gcode to pause mid-print, start it in red, change to blue or black about 10 layers in, then switch to red again for the last 10 layers. It looks great, especially with matching blue or black buttons.

Printing & Assembly
There are two STL files to print. They are:

  • Spidey Fidget Spinner
  • Spidey Fidget Buttons (8-1mm or 8-2mm)

We're supplying two snap-on Button STL files because we've come to find that some brands of bearings have slightly larger holes. The bearings in which the balls are visible seem to do well with 8.1mm snap-ins, while the enclosed bearings usually require an 8.2mm button.

All we can say is try one, and if it doesn't fit, print the other size. I would suggest printing the 8.2mm buttons first. It should be snug, and you should hear it snap into place. If it is too large, downsize to the 8.1mm.

Note that you will need to supply your own bearing. We've attempted to 3D print bearings before but they never come out smooth enough to power a fidget toy like this. You can get bearings at most online shops, including Amazon, or anywhere that sells skateboard accessories and the like. Look for:

608 Open Bearing Balls, 8x22x7mm

3D printing settings

These are super easy to print. Basic settings will do. The important thing is to add enough infill so that the spinner has some weight to it. If it's too light, it won't spin as well. We found that 75% produces just enough weight, but you're welcome to increase it to 100% if you prefer.
