Hello musicians! This Instructable will show you how to create a 3D model of glock/bell mallets on 123d Design Desktop version, so you can print them with a 3D printer. This is a very simple design, but I figured that it would be helpful when you need to replace the flimsy student glock mallets that eventually fall apart!

I attached my stl. file of the model, but here's how to make it

First, download 123d Design Desktop version here http://www.123dapp.com/design , start a new project, and change your units to inches

Step 1:

First, create a cylinder with a radius of 0.17 of an inch, and a height of 9.5 inches

Then, create a sphere with a radius of 0.5 of an inch

Next, put a circle on the sphere with a radius of 0.17 of an inch

Extrude the circle in 0.5 of an inch to make a hole in the sphere, and delete the remaining circle

Step 2:

Tap the face inside the sphere, to the face on top of the cylinder.

Next, combine the objects into one object

Select the mallet then press Ctrl+c then Ctrl+v to copy and paste it. Move the other mallet over that has now been pasted right on the first mallet.

Change the material of the mallets to glossy plastic, and you're done!
