Chicken Water Dispenser Easy Print

This is a Chicken Waterer. Poultry fountain. I designed this to be heavy duty enough to last. The water area is the right size for brooder chicks from hatch to a few months old. Small enough to fit in a box or pen without taking up a lot of room.

I designed this to be something like THIS .style chicken fountains.

But I wanted something a little less flimsy, and something that if i needed another one I can just print one. I Tried to design this so that it would be hard for a chick to drown in, but please watch your chicks they can fall asleep with their face in the water and drown in just about any water dish. I also wanted it to be somewhat hard for them to poop in, the wider jar and taller jars help keep them off the waterer.

It is designed to work with a standard mouth canning jar mason jar. I am actually using an old recycled pasta jar . that I rinsed out and reused:

most of these sauce jars just Atlas Mason Craft brand jars, when you remove the label they even have the Atlas logos, and have a standard canning thread the work great because they are a little fatter than some other jars.

You can also use any common regular mouth ball canning jar like this:

I even used an old Nate's fishing bait jar from some old prawns, just about any jar with a regular sized mouth should work, jam jars, pickle jars whatever you got laying around.

I am supporting 6 chicks on this, I clean and fill it twice a day. I would guess this should be good for around 10 chicks, and if kept clean should water them for couple days.

Should be top rack dishwasher safe.

6/22/20 - Updated design to removed lower fill channel, it was causing a small siphon that would pull dirty water back into the reservoir jar. Chicken Water 6.stl is the latest version.
