3D model description

Cool looking ship that I always wanted for the table and shelf, eventually gave up searching so decided to design one my self!

This is a beast, nearly 40cm long so it has some real presence on the table or shelf!

You need to have some competence in modelling and hobby-fu as this is a Multi-part kit to create your own dropship scaled for 28mm figures

The included ZIP files contain chitubox pre-supported plates for the resin parts, tbh I have never been a fan of pre-supported files, they often fail for me for many reasons including type of printer, settings, condition of FEP and often, I swear, the positions of the the Stars! However, these work 100% on my original Saturn using zoom settings so if you want to have a punt, good luck! :)

Print to order kits can be found on eBay under my seller name 'Sigmar109'

Pro tip...if printing in PLA, after assembly give the whole model 2 or 3 heavy coats of primer filler spray (i use Autotek). This will bring the whole model together, fill gaps and help smooth out print lines, seriously, this is what makes a good looking PLA model into an amazing 'is that resin or PLA' model ;)

I have included magnet slots to allow the wings to rotate and also channelling and a cavity for lighting if you want to go there. I use 3mm LED's connected to a 9v switchable battery box which is concealed in the front cavity. If you decide to light this bird up of course you will have to print the front and rear lenses in clear resin ;)

I also sell physical prints of this kit on eBay, my seller name β€˜sigmar109’

3D printing settings

I print large things like this in PLA, assemble the whole thing and give a good few heavy coats of filler primer spray before priming and painting, sand out any rough spots and fill if necessary.

Print as orientated using 0.2 adaptive settings on cura supports touching build plate 3mm brim

smaller parts such as the guns and front canards (very thin profile) are best left to resin printing

Engines were a right headache to orientate for best results with minimal scarring, after many test prints finally came up with the included printed supports so, as with the other pieces, print with supports touching build plate setting and carefully clip the columns away with the rest of the support material :)
