3D model description

Rollcage body compatible with AYK Viper 4WD.

100% modeled by myself from scratch. no scan.

The Viper is one of the most sought after RC racing buggies of the 80s. It was not a performer on the track but its looks was incredible.
AYK combined several parts from their previous vehicles and added a chain to create a completely new car.

I wanted a Viper so badly, I spent a huge amount of €€€ to get one, just for the sake of modeling it and retro engineer it.

It was the only car after the Javelin I wanted to model. Initially I used Sketchup but I remodeled it from scratch again in Fusion360 because I've been asked for 3d printed spare parts.

The original rollcage is too big to be printed with standard MJF printer configuration so I had to split it in smaller pieces.

Important:
- There's a Left (L) and Right (R) rollcage.
- The Rollbar could be printed in SLM (stainless steel) to be more solid;
- The roof panel could be printed in SLM metal too;
- Always pretap the screwholes prior assembling;
- The holes in the cage are made for M2 tapping screws; the sideguards must be attached on the chassis with M2.6 machined screws (check the Assembly manual)
- attach the nylon bands slowly without pulling too strong as it could deform the cage.

They are modeled with MJF PA12 dimensional constraints in mind so for applications like transparent resin SLA printing, you'll always need to tap the holes a bit.
