3D model description

The WR360 C14 was a series of shunting locomotives built in the late 1930s and 1940s for the German military.Β  They were mostly operated in depots where stray cinders from a steam engine might have caused an explosion, although several were assigned to roles near the front, or critical infrastructure locations where clouds of steam and smoke would have easily attracted enemy attention.

One such use, was to be paired with the Krupp K5(E) heavy railway guns, where they were employed to reposition the artillery pieces during aiming.

With a 6-cylinder diesel engine producing 360hp and a top speed of 55-60kph, they were adequate for yard and industrial work. Several were used to haul supplies in the deserts of North Africa, where the lack of available water sources prohibited steam locomotive operation.

Approximately 280 examples were built, with many surviving the war in Germany and those countries it had occupied. New examples of these locomotives were still being constructed in 1950, and they served into the mid-1980s.

This is a model of a German Diesel locomotive suitable for wargaming in 15mm scale. It has been designed to be printable on any standard FDM printer, such as the Ender 3. For rails, it is compatible with TT-scale 12mm gauge track, which is the same dimensions used by Battlefront Games' railway scenery. Derivation from any real-world prototype has been done for ease of printing or durability in handling for tabletop wargaming.
