3D model description

03/01/2019

I had to reprint my transmitter protector so while I was at it I decided it is right time to modify two of parts to make it easier to attach it on transmitter. (wider fillet holes at the bottom)

I uploaded three NEW objects with V2 prefix (V2 Gimbal Protector, V2 Toggle Switch Protector and V2 Rubber Tool).

I am not removing first versions from page, so be careful when setting files for print. I suggest using new (V2) versions. I also uploaded two pictures of cross section for better visual perception of difference between previous and V2 version.

This Thing is Foldable-Modular Protector for Flysky i6 Transmitter.

This is remix of already pubished protector. I had to modify it in the way that offers attaching other parts to it. Because of this characteristics I named it Modular Flysky Protector.

At the bottom of gimbal object is channel where you have to put rubber band that keeps elasticity of โ€œgrippersโ€ that holds on gimbals.

One of additional part is Toggle Switch that can be attached to Gimbal part.

The rest of parts offers assembling of left and right side protectors together.
There are two designs of connecting arms. One is oriented upward and the other downward. They are attached on Gimbal part the same way as the toggle switch protector part.

Arms are connected with Bridge Part. On Bridge part you can also attach ring. There are two orientations of ring to chose from. One is horizontal and the other is vertical. Hole sizes of Rings are 7.5 mm or 11 mm in diameter.

I only posted one side orientated files. The other side need to be created in slicer by mirroring...

Besides all files I also included helping object for putting rubber into the channel more easly .

Printing:

I posted only one side orientated parts. You have to mirror it (arms and toggle switch parts) to get the other side.
I used 0.5 nozzle.
I suggest slicing it with many wall parameter to make its snapping parts strong and effective.
I printed Gimbal part with brim just in case to prevent tall gimbal grippers to fall during print...
Rings and Arms have parts that are sticking out. I suggest using support parameter.
The PLA material that I print with is not so stiff that some others variants of PLA that I had tried. Probably PETG would be best option.
