1/18 trailer for TRX-4M and other scale vehicles

Camping trailer for TRX-4M or other 1/18 scale RC cars.

Parameters:
Overall length of frailer WITHOUT towing bracket is 19 cm (7.5 inches)
Width of trailer (outer diameter of wheels) is 12,5 cm (4.9 inches)
Total height with roof rack is 9 cm (3.5 Inches)
weight of trailer made of PETG is approximately 180 grams (0.4 lb)

I recommend printing parts in PETG for durability.
All parts can be printed WITHOUT supports.

If you want the trailer to be wider or narrower, please adjust the HEXs in the slicer accordingly.

You can use original Wheels from TRX-4M (56 mm/ 2.2 inch outer diameter of tire) as a basic. If You want to make the trailer higher and use bigger wheels, adjust the "Wheel_holder_spacer.stl" in Your slicer but uncheck the "Uniform scaling" checkbox to keep other parameters except "Z" axle (see picture)

Choose right length of tow joint holder:
1) "Tow_joint_holder_short" - for application to TRX-4M WITHOUT spare tire (tire delete kit is in my designs as well)
2) "Tow_joint_holder_long" - for application to TRX-4M WITH spare tire

Total amount of filament is approximately 50 meters

For smaller parts I do recommend to use "brim" for print.

Part list needed:
- 13 pcs of screw M2*6 mm (or simmilar screws in imperial units)
- 2 pcs of screw M3*30 mm for wheels (or simmilar screws in imperial units)
- 2 pcs of Aluminium/ brass/ copper or similar material of tube 3*4 mm diameter and 10 mm of length as a wheel bearing
- 1 pc of screw M2*10 for joint rod end as a towing device (or simmilar screws in imperial units)
- 2 pcs of M3 locking nuts for wheels

NOW You can print this trailer with Flatbed.

UPDATE_1:
New Wheel_holder_R + L to prevent damage.
Now are wheel holder +3mm wider (10mm in total width)
You should use 10 mm of tube for wheel bearing

Use new wheel holders in combination with new (shorter) version of "HEX" type

UPDATE_2:
If Your printer prints with exact parameters of X & Y axe, You can now print Tool_box_lid_tight & Main_box_lid_tight to ensure perfect fit of all parts.
If You’re not sure wether Your printer is able to print parts so exact to fit the tight lid in box, You can print "Tool_box_lid_0.1mm_space" & "Main_box_lid_0.1mm_space" instead. These two options should fit more freely but still tight enough to hold the lids in boxes.

Setting depends on parts:
1) Main box, main box lid etc. can be printed laying on the bed (Main box lid and tool box lid should be oriented on top side)
0.1 - 0.2 layer height
NO support needed
NO brim needed

2) STEPS - if You want to print the steps in perforated state as shown on pictures, set Your slice according to picture.
Both steps are symmetric for both side - just use the same STL file and mirror it.
0.1 - 0.15 layer height
7- 10 perimeters
NO top or bottom layer
50-70% od Infill (choose the "nicest" infill style that fits to You 😉)
NO support needed
NO brim needed

3) other parts could be printed with no special settings.

If there is some part missing in the design - don’t panic - both parts of trailer are mirrored = just print the same part mirrored accordingly 😉
