3D model description

Infamous used-weapon seller "Discount Dan" once saw a run in orders for Thunderbolts and their parts. Eager to cash in, Dan unfortunately came up with only the left arm to an ancient 5S to work with. Undaunted, Dan and his squadron of trained monkeys-er-techs set to work on assembling a machine that, well, approximated a Thunderbolt 5S. Sort of.

Massing five tons heavier than the venerable 5S, the "Katabolt", as it came to be known, provides a solid punch in both direct and indirect support roles. Though its doubtful that anyone would seriously consider wading into close combat with it. The machine's central torso is based on the heavily modified airframe of a crashed Igor VTOL. Whether out of desperation or copious amounts of Canopian battle powder is anyone's guess.

Groundspeed is clocked in at 65kp thanks to its 280-rated Magna fusion engine. The Igor's flight ability has been replaced to a degree with four jump jets, allowing for mobility equal to the TDR-5SE.

Primary armament comes from the old Lord's Light PPC and an LRM-15 launcher installed in a scrapped Longbow arm based on the left torso. Center torso based medium lasers and an SRM-4 mounted in the left torso provide close range firepower. Lastly a pair of flamers are installed on the point defense weapon mount on the left arm of the old Thunderbolt to set fires and deal with infantry.

Over twelve tons of Ryerson 150 ferro fibrous armor gives the Katabolt impressive protection, though the frankenmech's completely ad-hoc design makes both piloting and maintenance difficult. To date it has not attempted melee combat.

3D printing settings

I do not 3D print, nor do I have anything but the most basic of modeling skills. I mainly just kitbash from other's creations to build apocryphal designs and variants. IE: the model quality and settings are probably similar to the parts I used.

At least they're free.
