3D model description

A simple stand to make it easy to reassemble a key-wound alarm clock after cleaning its parts.

To use: fasten the four posts of the clock's movement to the front plate, using the movement's nuts. Lay the front plate on the stand so that the 3 tubes of the stand fit the tall screws of the 3 posts of the movement, and the fourth tube (without a hole) rests against the plate. Then the plate will stay level and off the table top as you place the movement's wheels into the plate.

In repairing cheap bedside alarm clocks, I found my usual stands didn't fit these smaller movements. This stand holds the front plate of such a clock face down and level, to keep the pivots from being pushed out of place by the desktop as I place the wheels into the plate.

I designed the stand to fit the movements of "Advance" and "Organtick Geneva Clock Company" cheap key-wound alarm clocks. Because these clocks seem to be copies of older designs, it may fit older alarm clocks as well.

3D printing settings

AlarmAssemblyStand.stl is the STL file to print. Print without supports. Print as oriented in the STL file: the flat side on the print bed.

I successfully printed this design in MatterHackers white Pro Series PLA on a Prusa i3 MK3, sliced with PrusaSlicer 2.5.2 at 0.20 mm QUALITY resolution.

AlarmMovementStand.FCStd is the FreeCAD design file. I constructed the design in the Part Design Workbench. It’s fairly simple: there is a flat base, 3 posts that have holes for the alarm movement, and one post that is solid.
