Nophica's Scythe

.stl format. Cut for a 250mm printer, ideally with a base around 200x200, but it can fit smaller on an angle. The blade is about 40" and the handle is about 70" including the bird. It's a big baby!

I strongly suggest printing with thick walls (ie 1.4-1.6mm) for extra durability, going extra thick on the blade collet. (2.0 might sound like overkill but you'll appreciate the strength.

This prop assembles on internal dowels for strength. I've included a diagram of where they all go, but you'll need to acquire and cut to length the following SQUARE 3/4" dowels. You can use round if you prefer/it's easier to find, but because it ROTATES, you will have to align the pieces yourself.

Dowel Segments: 14.5", 7", 9.25", 11" and 26"

If you want it to be collapsible for travel, simply don't glue the dowels into one half of a piece they slot into. Ie, don't glue the dowel into the blade start.

If you want to print it smaller, there's two options:

58.25" handle:
swap out the 3/4" dowels for 5/8" ones and print everything at 84%
scale. You'll also need to cut all of the dowels to a length 84% of the above listed lengths; multiply them by 0.84 to get the number :) (Yes, I'm making you do math.)

46.5" handle:
swap out the 3/4" dowels for 1/2" ones and print everything at 66.5%
scale. You'll also need to cut all of the dowels to a length 66.5% of the above listed lengths; multiply them by 0.665 to get the number :) (Yes, I'm still making you do math.)
