*FUNCTIONAL* 40mm Impact Grenade for Airsoft/Gelsoft

This is my design solution for a 40mm Impact Grenade for Airsoft/gelsoft that DOESN'T go through 2 thick layers of carboard. Made from online inspiration like the chalk grenade on Thingverse & previous failed attempts that were either down right goofy, dangerous or just silly. If you need any help with this design or any other designs just feel free to ask, I'm also open to any advice or constructive criticism. Made to suit the 40mm 40MAX NERF Grenade shell or any similar gas powered grenade launcher (you can muzzle load it if you fancy like the founding fathers intended).
Use any cheap/low-grade 7-8mm gel blaster/gel ball ammo.
Works well with rifled launchers that use 0.500ul revolution * 151mm height or similar AutoCAD settings.

Projectile base has a diameter of 34.6mm, if you have trouble fitting it snugly in your shell use a strip of paper around the rifling (this will act as a discardable wadding, or else increase the base and top size by 2%).

The top comes in 2 different thicknesses - 0.5mm & 1mm. (Printing without supports may be an issue for the 0.5mm top if your printer cant bridge across)

There are 3 different plunger lengths - 15mm, 20mm & 25mm. Can be used effectively without the "plunger" and filled from the top, be sure to cover the top hole with tape.

Print with skirt for your build plate adhesion as the printed skirt will come in handy if printed in TPU...
There's a 2mm hole in the base and top so you can thread the printed skirt and tie the base and top together so you don't have to walk 5m this way and 10m the other way & every which way to find all the parts of the grenade.

$1 price tag is basically you buying me a small frozen coke from maccas because they no longer sell large frozens for a $1 :(. Inflation really does suck.

Updates (04/10/2023): Added a chalk impact grenade shell. Also added better & heavier grenade bases for better range and some more stability... as I did try these out at a 24hr game and managed to get 20m. This updated heavy design managed to get between 30m-40m while still retaining safe measures of not going through 2 thick layers of cardboard - so it seems safe to me, but still... check with your local field on whether its allowed or not.

Recommended to print in TPU or any material (provided your local field allows it). If you are intending to discard the grenade in the field as "1 & done" be sure to use biodegradable filament so you can fire and forget.

Printer: Ender 3 V2 w/4.2.2 board
(any printer will do but this is what I used)
Layer Height: 0.2mm
Infill: 40%-60%
Infill Pattern: Triangular
Print Speed: 50mm/s
(recommended 30-40mm/s for TPU but somehow I got away with 50mm/s) ¯_(ツ)_/¯
Supports: Can be printed without supports provided you use a custom support (10mm width) at the bottom center of the base, top & plunger (refer to image 7).
