3D model description

SUNLU put the S8 PRO large printer on clearance.

I purchased one because $159 total cost (includes taxes and shipping) was a great buy.

Even if I didn't like the printer the components would cost me more than that. I loved the printer so much, I purchased two more.

The first printer came with two knobs on each corner. I thought the designers were brilliant for making a "Locknut" design to keep the print bed (table) locked into position to reduce the print table from becoming unlevel. I admit this was my inspiration to buy more printers.

The second printer only came with one set of knobs for leveling the print surface. It turns out the two sets of knobs was a manufacturing error. I loved the concept of locking the print surface into position, so I created this ( and other) designs to recreate the original manufacturers "error" that turned out to be a genius idea.

I strongly advise you to buy one of these SUNLU S8 PRO large printers before they are gone (probably forever). The link below will take you to their site. Search their 3d printers. it is easy to locate.

This is a re-creation:
The s8 Pro has long threaded rods from the build plate (table) you can add an eight millimeter spacer (standoff) to raise the table. Then tighten the bed level knobs eight millimeters. That will provide space for this locknut.

This is redrawn from the original. I didn't like the asymmetry. (see the pic with the red and black knobs. The red one is not symmetrical) The outer section seemed thicker in some areas and thinner in other. Fusion360 circle pattern kept giving this odd characteristic so, I deleted everything and drew it again using a slightly different approach. This has produced a more aesthetic final product.

I used the following to create this design.

** M4 threaded brass insert from this kit from Amazon.

** Soldering Iron adapter
