3D model description

A Plasma Sword, also called a Plasma Blade, is a Leagues of Votann melee Plasma Weapon shaped in the form of a single-handed sword whose blade is itself an integrated plasma field. Plasma Swords are sometimes used as alternative melee weapons for Hearthkyn Warrior theyns and as alternative melee weapons by kâhls. Kâhls, however, make use of the more finely-crafted forgewrought versions of the Plasma Sword or may even be gifted with a relic version of the weapon that is sacred to their league, such as the Blade of the Ancestors of the Greater Thurian League.

It is a fact of war for the Kin in the 41st Millennium that many foes -- not least the hated Greenskins -- cannot always be halted by ranged firepower alone. Such enemies must be battled blade to blade, and defeated quickly in the resulting melee.

Kin close combat weapons embody this ethos. They make substantial use of integrated plasma fields, either to wreathe sword and axe blades or to form the blades themselves. Such melee weapons scythe through physical shields and body armour with equal ease, and reduce the foe to cauterised chunks of charred meat and bone.
