3D model description

NOTE THAT I PRINTED THIS IN A RELATIVELY FIRM TPU FILAMENT, IT MIGHT NOT WORK IN RIGID FILAMENT.

MOUNTING ORIENTATION OF THE PRINTED PARTS:
The front mount should be oriented with the surface on which is facing downwards when printing is towards the back of the car, the front post should be clamped on so it is facing forward, the nut and bolt pointing backwards.
The rear mounts have the screw slot pointing forwards and upwards on mine but they are pretty symmetrical so it might not matter.

Found a WLtoys 12427 with its controller, battery and charger at a garbage collection point, took it home and figured out the its just the battery thats dead.
The car itself looked like it had hardly been used, just two small scratches on the bottom of the chassi and they were horizontal, not in the direction of travel so probably from either getting high centered or put down on a rock, or something.
Plugged in a working battery and it ran.

Figured i want to make a Beetle out of this one, intending to get a lexan shell later on as this chassi is a bit more bash friendly than the Tamiya chassis i have Beetle shells on.

With this in mind i went for the Monster/Blitzer Beetle style of body mounts, one post in through the hood and another out just in front of the rear fenders on each side. As opposed to front post and clip at the rear of the roof which the Sand Scorcher uses.

I re used the bottom of the part made my WrenchToDrive, big thanks for that, saved me time designing it :)
Changed up the top to give good support inside of the hood of the beetle shell to minimize wobble and designed a clamp on body post for ease of printing.

For the rears i measured up a couple of holes, eyeballed the location for the post and got to designing and when printed it fit on the first try.

I attached the mounts using the screws left over when taking the body panels off and for clamping on the front post to the mount i used a 3mm bolt with a nut.

As for the any mods required, the rear of the cage on the WLtoys buggy needs to be cut away, that is the section that holds the spare tire, as it otherwise does not allow the body to sit low enough.
More of the cage needs to be removed in order to fit a driver figure, ive not tried this yet.

A Blitzer beetle nose cone might be better as it would allow the shell to sit slightly more backwards, giving more clearance to the front fenders, another option is to modify the front of the the cage but this isnt something ive done yet.
