The Bell UH-1 Iroquois, often referred to simply as the "Huey", is a light multi-role helicopter developed by Bell Helicopter for the US Army. This helicopter was groundbreaking as it was the first turbine-powered helicopter in the US Armed Forces. Originally designed as a helicopter for evacuating the wounded, it was converted for a variety of tasks over the course of its long service life. The Huey was first used in the Vietnam War, where it played a decisive role. In total, over 16,000 of the UH-1 family were produced. This helicopter was used worldwide and was deployed by numerous armed forces.
