Cute Mushroom Cottage Fairy Gnome House Toadstool Garden Decor

Spruce up your collection of household Cottagecore decorations or embellish your garden decor with this adorable Mushroom Cottage! It's the perfect size to host any fairy or gnome family. The foundation of the home is a bulbous toadstool with stonework masonry around the entrance and chimney, and a heavy wooden door to keep out unwanted guests, such as trolls and pungent gully dwarves! You can even add a light inside to give it a realistic glow as evening dwindles to twilight.

I've included 3 STL files so you can print the cottage all at once (Mushroom Cottage - Whole), or as two separate pieces (Mushroom Cottage - Top, Mushroom Cottage - Bottom). I recommend printing the Top and Bottom separately, as you'll save time and filament since the Bottom alone does not require supports. The Top will require minimal support around the lower edges as it builds up.

Choosing how to paint this cute mushroom house is half the fun!

I painted a darkish-orange roof by combining Light Brown with Pumpkin Orange. The dots on top are painted Yellow, then painted over with Vanilla Cream (for highlight effect). For the gills under the mushroom cap, I painted brown, then used a fan brush to sweep streaks of Vanilla Cream over it.

The Bottom is painted Golden Brown, then streaked again with Vanilla Cream. I left a little water on the brush for this one to help it blend more.

The Stone Work is painted grey then used a sponge brush to gently tap light grey spots on it.

The Wooden Door and Branches in the Window are both painted Brown.

Note that the layer quality and print speed are lower for the Whole / Bottom prints. This is to ensure the branches in the window print well without support. If you choose to add support (I would recommend Cura's Tree Supports), you can increase the layer quality and print speed to 0.2 and 80mm/sec, respectively.
