Anglerfish is a deep-sea fish known for its distinctive method of catching prey. Most anglerfish species have a specialized organ called an esca at the end of a modified dorsal fin ray. The esca is bioluminescent, glowing in the dark, and attracts prey towards the anglerfish's large and powerful jaws, which are lined with sharp teeth. Anglerfish are also known for their sexual dimorphism, where the males are significantly smaller than the females and fuse their bodies to the females when mating. This unique and fascinating fish is commonly found in the Atlantic, Indian, and Pacific Oceans, and its unique characteristics have made it a popular subject in science and fiction.
