3D model description

I had printed several of the single-band ear strain relief bands in PETG for my coworkers, but discovered they were cracking from usage. They also were not working out for my coworkers who wore hearing aids, glasses, sunglasses, hats, etc. and sometimes did not provide a secure enough fit for their needs.

I designed this to be printed in TPU or other flexible filaments to accommodate my coworkers who were having a hard time with the single strap design. This design is very low profile and highly adjustable - if you have a weirdly-shaped noggin, it can probably be made to fit you. It's also flexible enough to fold up into a purse/pocket/bag with the mask.

The bands are 1mm thick, so they can fit under a hat. Completed weight is about 5 grams. The "buckles" that attach to the ear loops on your mask can be repositioned to a higher or lower anchor point to accommodate hearing aids, glasses, or other needs. The two main "bands" can be tightened on the lower and upper portions independently for a custom fit.

How does it all go together? It's four total pieces. You will need:
2 x buckle
1 x barbed strap
1 x strap with slots

The "buckles" go on the anchor points as need, one per side. Just thread the "buckle" through itself so it makes a small loop connecting the mask ear loop to the head strap. The barbed strap then gets threaded into the slotted strap and tightened in whatever configuration is appropriate. Any extra "tails" can be trimmed off or threaded through additional slots for a more secure, lower profile fit.

The downside with this design is once the ear loops are attached into the buckles, they are not quick to remove. So to take your mask off, it becomes more like a quick-don oxygen mask or goggles than simply slipping an ear loop off. It's not difficult by any means, but it is slightly more cumbersome.
