3D model description

This is a replacement for the original LM8UU Rostock carriages.

It's designed to snap on 8mm rods, so you don't even have to disassemble your Rostock to use them.

I replaced the original belt mount with a GT2 tooth profile mount.

The bearings are very quiet unlike the LM8UU bearings.

3D printing settings

Make sure your Printer is well calibrated.

I sliced in cura with these settings:

0.2mm layer height

0.8mm wall thickness

0.8mm bottom/top thickness

50% infill

45mm/s print speed

80mm/s infill speed

Unfortunately i don't know how to use openSCAD, so i measured the original carriages and rebuilt it in Inventor as good as i can.

There are some differences, so you have to calibrate your printer (at least CARRIAGE_HORIZONTAL_OFFSET) again.

After you have printed them, carefully run an 8mm drill through the bearings (works better if you spin it the wrong way).

Then run a 3mm drill through the U-Joint screw holes.

Before installing, put some grease or oil on the bearings to lubricate it.
