A set of 117 three-dimensional tiles, for use with boardgames (in particular Fantasy Flight's 2014 game Dungeonquest: Revised Edition) or tabletop games.

What is this?

This is a complete set of 3d-tiles, intended to replace the flat cardboard tiles of the boardgame of the same name. The tileset includes the exact same number and types (corridors, traps et cetera) of tiles as the boardgame, and can be used on the game board included in the game.
The artstyle of the 3D tiles are inspired by the artwork of the original game. This includes a forced perspective visual style, where the walls and objects of the tiles slope inwards at the bottom to give the impression of greater depth when viewed from above.
The 3d tiles can also be used as interiors for other boardgames or tabletop games, like War hammer or Dungeons & Dragons. You can use the tiles to build a dungeon system of any size you desire.

Will I still need the original game to play using these 3D tiles?

Yes, definitely. This product only includes models intended to replace the cardboard tiles of the original game. You still need the rulebook, cards, various game pieces et cetera of the boardgame in order to play.

This tileset looks very similar to another tileset also published by Sharedog Miniatures

Correct. I originally published a 3d tileset geared towards the predecessor of Dungeonquest, the swedish boardgame Drakborgen released in 1985. That tileset, while very similar to the one you are looking at on this page, had different symbol markers and a slightly different set of chambers. For example, the Drakborgen tileset does not include the bridge tiles, chasm tiles or web chambers included in the Dungeonquest: Revised Edition tileset. A customer commissioned me to basically convert and repackage the original 3d tileset to fit Dungeonquest, so I did. By purchasing this 3d tileset, you ensure that you get the tiles compatible with Dungeonquest: Revised Edition. How do I use this tileset?

First off, you'll need access to a 3D printer.
Secondly, you need to print 1 copy of each tile in the tileset if you intend to use the 3D tiles for Dungeonquest: Revised Edition. There are 117 3d tiles included in this tileset. Which, if my information is correct, exactly matches the number of tiles included in the boardgame.
The tile print files are numbered, so keeping track of which tile you need to print next is easy. Once you've printed the tile marked no 1, you print no 2 and so on.

Do note that 117 tiles are quite a lot of models to print - If you intend to print up an entire set, expect to devote a lot of printing time and filament/resin to the project. A single tile printed at high settings takes approximately 1 hours to print. Also note that depending on the quality of your printer, some of the finer details on the tiles may or may not show up properly at default scale.

Each tile is currently prescaled to 3.8 cm x 3.8 cm in size. The dimensions of the original cardboard tiles vary by edition, but it is my understanding 3.8x3.8 are the dimensions used in the 2014 Dungeonquest: Revised Edition version.

Highest possible printer settings recommended, especially if printing at default scale (ie boardgame scale). NOTE that even at high settings, some details may not show up properly at default scale. You'll have to scale the tiles up to 28mm tabletop game scale for complete fidelity.
