3D model description

NOTE: This is a very old design with photos from when a lot of us built our own i3 designs, at that time printquality was way different from now, as you can see in the pictures, and therefore this model was needed to help with printability on that curved overhang.

A remixed version of http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:10946 to be easier to print.

I had problems with the slight overhang in the front of the link bending upwards when printing the cable chain so I added a 1mm support under the front to keep it level.

Prints like a charm now and the support is easy to remove with a knife or a file.

I've also added the two custom mounts that I've designed for the X-carrige of my Prusa i3. The extruder side simply clips on to the NEMA stepper motor for the extruder.

3D printing settings

Just print and trim down the support either with a knife, file or sandpaper.

I would recommend you to print the mounts in the orientation they are placed with support set to "touching the buildplate" or similar for the best looking result and strongest parts.

The "X-motor" mount might need a drop of glue to stay in place depending on the precision of the print, I did not need it though.
