3D model description

Since I got a printer over a year ago I wanted to tackle this print. Outlaw Star is an amazing anime and is definitely worth checking out (https://outlawstar.fandom.com/wiki/Outlaw_Star_(ship)#Gallery).

This is still a work in progress as I have never built something that'll need to be sanded, filled, and painted. Hopefully won't have to make any design changes. But I wanted to post what's ready before it takes a year to finish completely.

Also a big ty to the OP for providing the original files for this creation (https://www.thingiverse.com/greggo/designs)

While designing this I always intended to print it at 300%, not sure how the pins system will hold up at smaller sizes. Printed on a Creality Ender 3/ Overture PETG filament/ 250 tip 85 bed heat. This print used almost an entire new roll of filament. No Supports Needed for any part of print

Cockpit/ mid (section of the ship)/ Eng Body/ether drive-

All printed with no issues at 20% infill and other than placing holes on the connecting end remain unmodified from OP.
Mid-On the bottom its suppose to be labeled (I, II, III, IV) which matches the Eng and Wing files. If you are using the pins to line up the pieces this is very important

After print thoughts
Cockpit- front facing spikes may end up getting replaced with another medium depends on how sanding and painting goes they’re a lil flimsy
Mid- little rough around the window looking panels but no complaints
Eng Body- This section I did print at 0.1 layer height in hopes to make all the small pipes stick out better not sure if it helped but looks good.
Ether Drive- need to tweak some settings to stop stringing
Small gun turret goes on top on assembly

Eng and Wing sections
(on the bottom of Mid section its suppose to be labeled ((I, II, III, IV) which matches the Eng and Wing files. If you are using the pins to line up the pieces this is very important)

Due to low area on build plate make sure to take step (I use a glue stick)
Other than placing holes on the connecting end remain unmodified from OP.
Wings- flared tips point backwards and are closest to the fuselage of the ship when assembled.
Printed at 100% infill

    Eng-Printed at 20% infill

After print thoughts
Bed adhesion, bed adhesion, can stress it enough

Engine Tip
Due to low area on build plate make sure to take step (i use a glue stick)
This was modified from the original post by adding a small disc on the print surface to connect the tip’s pieces so that the piece can be attached and lined up with pins.
Same tip can be used on all engines (does have a correct way to attach when using pins to line up pieces)
Printed at 100% infill
File already set at 300%

After print thoughts
    No issues

Pins
3 types of pins (printed at 290%)
Printed at 100% infill
Oval- to attached engine tip to engine
Flatted squarish- connect eng body to wings/ wings to engines
Large rectangular- connect cockpit/ mid/ eng body/ ether drive

After print thoughts
Oval pins are a little flimsy and get stuck in the Eng and Eng tip pieces easily
