Jurassic Park Commemorative Dinosaur Egg Stand Fun Kids Art Paint Project

Steven Spielberg's blockbuster series of Jurassic Park and Jurassic World films have awed hundreds of millions of fans all over the world. I was a teenager when the original movie debuted in theaters, and I'll never forget it. This film broke the mold for CGI cinematography with graphics so real, children were terrified by the raptor as it smashed through the kitchen! Each new film in the series manages to blow us away even more.

Now, 3D printing enthusiasts can commemorate their love for the Jurassic Age with their very own dinosaur egg. It sits perched upon a jagged stand and features a beveled token with the silhouette of a Tyrannosaurus Rex.

Makes a Fun Painting Project for Kids!

The dinosaur egg stand comes in two parts - the Base and the Token. It is highly scalable. You can drop it to 50%, or increase it to whatever size your printer bed can hold. Just be sure to scale ithe base evenly on the X/Y/Z, and scale the token by the same percentage.

There are a few ways you can go about printing and coloring the base. You could:

• Print the base in the color you want the platform, then paint the egg. -or-
• 2. Print the base the color you want the egg, then paint the platform. -or-
• 3. Print in a dark color for shading, such as black or brown, then paint the platform and the egg.

If you're doing this as a children's project, consider the age range. For younger kids, just painting the egg might be better.

The token is separate so that it can be printed in multiple colors. You can achieve great color definition if your printer supports pausing to change filament (e.g. Cura's "Pause at Height" feature). If not, the token has a high raised edge, making it very easy to paint just the surface.
