Larger cousins of hill giants, mountain giants are stronger and generally more powerful than their lesser kin, and even slightly more intelligent, although their grasp of hygiene is mostly the same.
Usually cruel and erratic, they tend to live in a loose collection of families, occupying common territory in the high mountains, periodically raiding the lowlands. The common image of a giant tearing a roof from the house most often depicts mountain giant, in fact.
Some rare exceptions exist among this brute race. Those mountain giants that reach extreme old age achieve deep wisdom derived from the root of mountains and headwaters of mighty rivers. They are mostly recluses living alone in deep caves on highest mountain peaks.
