3D model description

I built myself an MPCNC router some time ago.

For the spindle I bought, it came with a power supply and a frequency converter. The power supply has the same dimension of all power supplies of common 3D printers. Unfortunately, a case was missing for this to store the electronics safely and dust-protected. So I designed a case myself and wanted to print it first. But since my printer had problems at the time, I disassembled the construction into its components and machined directly on my milling machine and later glued together.

What's nice is that both power supply and control electronics can be hidden in the case universally for any common 3D printer (or your MPCNC router) in a nice shape, and that your electronics are always protected against overheating with a large fan.

The following features are included:

  • Access-proof and dust-proof electronics

  • Ventilation/venting slots throughout the housing (dust protection available as a gage to be glued behind the ventilation slots at any hardware store)

  • Safety first! Recess for main switch with cold appliance connection and pre-fuse - unfortunately not installed in every 3D printer

  • Fan grille against interference with the spinning fan (here: 120 mm, parametric in dimension and position)

  • all models are available parametrically to suit your needs (Inventor (R) ), as STEP (for universal use) and as STL so you can start printing right away.

As a result, there are now 2 main models:

**bold

  • PRINT IN PLACE case = universal case for power supply and control electronics MPCNC or most popular 3D printers -.

bold

  • PRINT & GLUE case or version for milling/milling = universal case for power supply and control electronics MPCNC or most common 3D printers.

In addition, still (due to the many attachments to the milling) some special solutions were created

  • Display holder for 6x 7-segment display (digital display for spindle speed or similar).

  • Case holder parametric (adaptable for any case size)

  • Holder with cover for petentiometer, clickable

Notes: In the Print & Glue version, small holders should be printed (min. 3, depending on the material and the attachment - e.g. overhead also more). These are in the Print & Glue version in the subfolder "optional". For the Print in Place version, these are already provided in the print.

The display case can be combined with any joint/rotary connector or joint from Thingiverse. Here you look for whatever you need.

3D printing settings

3D printing succeeds as follows (PLA):

  • 2 to 3 wall lines (outside and inside).

  • Infill 20% or more

  • Printing top-down (the font is on the bed)

  • Support structure not greater than 15%

  • Resolution 0.1 to 0.25 mm

All models Parametric - you are welcome to customize the individual parts and fix them with the Universal Brackets.
