3D model description

This is a series of three N scale Model Train Gondola Cars #1 by Socrates for Micro-Trains Couplers. Full sided and with a single and a double opening on the sides. The open sides are a difficult print and have some added supports included.

The cars are 40ft Gondola designed to run empty or with removable loads that allow for quick and varied freight trains. The only added cost is the price of Micro-Trains couplers. Here is a small video on how to install the couplers. https://youtu.be/iG7RecpV6t0

Included are a set of 20', 30' and 40' intermodal cargo containers. I have loads of Propane tanks, Shipping Containers, Wire Coils, Pipes, Construction Beams, Wood, Pallets and more! Loads are in 20ft 30ft and 40ft versions. Make suggestions or photos for future models!

Printed at 0.16 layer height with a FDM printer. The holes are not sized for resin, leave a comment if needed to make the holes different sized. The pins are fitted for Micro-Trains medium or long shank couplers. I use a pen to support the pins and wiggle it into the hole. There are two sized pins with the Micro-Trains couplers depending on your printer, sometimes the larger fit better.

3D printing settings

Has only been printed on FDM printer so far. Not sure about the hole size for resin, and needs drains. Designed for 0.16 layer height and a 120% 1st layer. Adaptive layers also work well. Prints upside down no supports needed.

There is a full sided as well as open sided cars. The cut side gondolas are both single and double opening. They come with no supports, small flanges that help the bed adhesion for such a small contact area, and also with a single box support to help the gap bridge.
