Junkrat is an explosives-obsessed freak who lives to create mayhem and destruction. The attack on the Australian Omnium fusion core changed the landscape forever. After the explosion, the site became a hostile, irradiated wasteland, littered with debris and ruins. It became totally uninhabitable. But some survived. They call themselves the Junkers. They scavenged the remains of the omnium and formed a ruthless and lawless society in the shadows. Junkrat was one of them. He made his living collecting metal and components from the ruins. Like many others, he was affected by residual radiation. That touch of madness made him perfect for taking care of dangerous explosives, a hobby that ended up becoming an obsession. He came to prominence when he discovered an extremely valuable secret among the remains of the omnium. Although few knew the nature of what he found, he found himself stalked by bounty hunters, gangs and opportunists everywhere anyway, until he struck a deal with the mercenary scrap dealer Roadhog, who reluctantly agreed to be his personal bodyguard in exchange for half of the loot. Now, with Roadhog's company, Junkrat left the desert and embarked on an international criminal journey, causing nothing but mayhem and destruction in his wake.
