Description

Quote Wikipedia: Sir Harry Paget Flashman VC, KCB, KCIE is a fictional character created by Thomas Hughes in the semi-autobiographical Tom Brown's School Days (1857) and later developed by George MacDonald Fraser. Harry Flashman appears in a series of 12 of Fraser's books, collectively known as The Flashman Papers.

I have depicted our hero Flashman as a colonel of the 17th Lancers around the time of the infamous Charge of the Light Brigade at the Battle of Balaclava, 1854. Flashman would have been 32 years old then. In the Flashman book about the Crimean War, Flashman gets roaringly drunk on the evening before the battle, so he has to take part in the action monstrously hungover from too much champagne and full of flatulence from too much food. Nevertheless, he comes through in his usual style, fleeing in such panic from the battle that he mistakenly rides into the enemy's lines, which his contemporaries in turn mistake for death-defying bravery.

The Flashman bust wears the dress uniform of a colonel of the 17th Lancers, a rank Flashman held in 1854. Please note that for actual historical accuracy, you need to fix two fine chains from the pouchbelt garter star to the pickers on your printed model. I haven't modelled the chains, because they are nearly impossible to print. For a reference please look at the photos of the model.

3D PRINTING SETTINGS The file contains two versions of the bust, a hollowed out one and a solid one. The sculpting was done with Nomad Sculpt on my iPad. Both versions consist of three parts for better painting, with the champagne bottle and the head separate from the body. I have provided no supports, as I myself like to place the supports on downloaded models on my own.
