In the grim darkness of the far future, a new force has emerged within the war-torn galaxy, 40,000 years in the future. Sentry Bot 287
The sentry bot's singular purpose is to provide security through overwhelming firepower. The sentry bot had become a standard piece of military equipment by at least 63.M3, with prototypes existing further back. The sentry bot's purpose is to engage the enemy at range with a variety of weapons, including miniguns, Gatling lasers, rocket launchers, and even front-mounted cluster grenade launchers. At the same time, its thick armor and multiple redundant systems allow it to survive extended engagements. The currently used model was developed in 287M3. On top of their already formidable ballistic and explosive weaponry, the 287 sentry bots have powerful melee attacks and a self-destruct function when it receives considerable damage. They are more durable than previous iterations of the sentry bot models, however despite being extremely bulky their mobility if anything has actually improved; they are capable of moving stunningly fast and traversing extremely rough terrain (even scaling rocky outcrops with little difficulty). In addition; a sentry bot's entire torso is capable of rotating independently of its legs, functioning akin to a turret and allowing it to move in one direction while shooting in a different direction (potentially against targets directly behind it). Finally, Mecanum wheels allow it to strafe right and left without having to turn. The current supplier and owner of the Sentry Bots are the NS Operatives who realized the need for high firepower in the vast and deadly battlefields.
