3D model description

My daughter's sinus veins (the big veins draining the blood coming from the brain). Nothing wrong with them :)

My first tests with MRI data. MRIs usually produce data series with lower resolutions than those of a CT. Also, since the physics underlying the creation of pictures in CT and MRI are very different, usual procedures to segmentate pictures as used with CT can't be applied here. The data used for pictureing the veins of the brain are of a slightly higher resolution. And the object depicted, i.e. the blood flow in the veins, gives a high signal compared to the surroundings which can be used to segmentate data.

I thought about showing a brain but I'm not there yet...

3D printing settings

I made it too small, most of the finer structures may have been printed but were gone of course after removing the support stuff.

0.1mm height of course, 0 shells,exterior support.
