3D model description

Disclaimer: this is NOT a functioning weapon, simply a prop replica designed for people like me who like to display/roleplay with prop guns without risking one's own safety. (Also, the original item technically isn't even a 'weapon', as I explain below!)

This is a 3d printable model I made of the Soviet Space Laser Pistol. The original pistol was intended to be used by cosmonauts not as a conventional weapon, but in order to destroy optical sensors on enemy spacecraft - the equivalent of damaging a camera by aiming a laser pointer at its center.

I’m always a sucker for space stuff AND prop weapons, so I just had to make this one for my collection.

Assembly:

I designed this item to simply be glued or welded together for the most part, but also included a mechanic which allows the front barrel to be opened much like the original item's mechanism for ejecting spent cartridges.

To put the front barrel on its hinge, align the front barrel to the main body as seen in the pictures. Use a piece of filament or item of similar size to create the 'hinge' on the front piece, and seal the ends with either a soldering iron or a small butane torch.

To assemble the 'eject' mechanism, you will need a small spring and a small metal pick (as you can see in the pictures, I used a thin nail). Insert the spring into the rear barrel, then place the 'firing pin' inside, then place your pick into the pinhole through the L-shaped opening in the rear barrel and use it to pull back the pin to allow the front barrel to open or lock shut. I have also included a dummy cartridge which should fit into the front barrel.
