Foam Alignment Pins For Terrain Sculpting

Hey everyone. These are alignment pins that you can use to create a removable top to you foam terrain tunnels. Especially for model railroading tunnels, where you may need to remove part of the mountain to access your railroad tracks for cleaning or for any derailments, or whatever the case may be.

How it is used. Glue your mountain base foam to you that creates the front and back walls of your tunnel to you terrain base. Set a piece of foam, up to two inches thick on top of the base tunnel walls that will act as your roof. Take the long male pins and push them all the way in till they reach their base. Remove the roof piece of foam along with the long pins that are now in it. Those pins leave marks on the base foam that is glued down allowing you to precisely place the shorter female pins in place. It's not necessary to glue them in. This will allow any minior movements due to potential missalignments. Set you roof section back on with all of the pins in place and glue on your next section of foam to the top of the roof section sandwiching the long male pins in place. Finish your mountain however you choose making sure now to accidentally glue the upper mountain to the base mountain.
