3D model description

A 1:1 replica of the Plant Core Cube from the season finale of Trigun Stampede! Craft your very own compressed higher dimensional matter cube to fight over with your sibling.

This is a weird one - in the anime the rings seen on the surface of the cube appear to actually be layers of spheres, waves rippling out from the innermost core. This model attempts to replicate that appearance via a sequence of spheres of incremental size. These can be printed and used to create resin cast molds. The LEDs should be contained within the "Sphere Core" mold, and then coated with resin in stages to bring it up to each "bubble" size, ending at 4.

If you'd rather not mess around with all that resin (I'm not sure I want to!) there's an option to have the details expressed as rings on the exterior surface of the cube, either raised or recessed, as well as an option to have the rings recessed into the interior wall. If you can print with a clear enough material, that's probably the best looking option.

There's also an optional base plate to use if you'd prefer to just have the innermost core, with an optional hole for routing LED cables out to the exterior of the cube. Alternatively, you could print only Wave Bubble 4 to serve as an opaque interior core, that one will fit with no internal stand required.

You need to print 8 Brackets and some combination of 6 Face Plates. Glue is required, sorry!

UPDATE: I've added a new option, the Connected Body and Connected Ends. This is an easier to assemble version that is more suited for FDM printers. Print with a transparent material with 0 infill for best results!

3D printing settings

Ideally print in clear resin, otherwise as high detail FDM as possible to use as mold references.
