3D model description

The project
• To build a 3D printed remote controlled robotic car based on the Arduino uno board.
• To build a remote controller based on an Arduino nano board https://cults3d.com/en/3d-model/various/arduino-joystick-controller-for-arduino-4wd-robot-car
(not included in this post)
• also the car has the ability to move autonomously through distance measurement sensors to avoid obstacles

dimentions: 260mm x 150mm x 120mm

Operation

• The robot car has 2 different driving modes. Manually controlled by the joystick and autonomously as a robot car that avoids obstacles. The operating mode is selected by the “Mode” button on the controller.

• The robot car has two pairs of white leds on the front bumper and two pairs on the back (one pair of red and one pair of white). The first pair of front and the rear red LEDs are controlled by the “Lights” button on the controller.

• The second pair, front and rear, are controlled by the movement of the car. When the car moves forward the front LEDs light up and when it moves backwards the rear white LEDs light up. When the car turns, the leds are blinking.

• The robotic car can move in all directions. Forward, Backward, Forward left, Forward right, Backward left, Backward right. All movements are controlled by the joystick.

• There are 3 speed levels which are controlled by two buttons on the controller. The 3 maximum speed levels correspond to three values of 150, 200 and 250 applied to the ENA and ENB pins of the motor driver (L298N). This function is useful in case of 3-battery supply where the rotation speed of the motors is higher.

• In manual mode, when the ultrasonic sensors detect an obstacle 20 cm in front or behind the car the vehicle stops, even if the operator does not release the joystick.

• In autonomous mode, the servo moves the ultrasonic sensor in 5 positions and scans the area in front of the car to detect an obstacle. If it detects something it stops and measures again at 3 different angles. Depending on the results of the measurements, it chooses the best direction to continue its movement.

You have 3 options for the car body print.
1) print full body with supports.
2)print half body with half roof and use decoration line models to hide the connection area.
3)print half body without roof and roof as one part.

3D printing settings

All parts have been printed in low quality 0,28mm,3 top and bottom layers, 3 wall lines,60mm/s max speed, 10% infill except decoration line files which are with 30% infill.
If you choose to print full body of the car it needs supports. if you choose to prin the two half body files you dont need supports.
