3D model description

FLEX skin that protects your Novritsch Range Finder (older model).

The protective case is 2mm thick on the sides and 3mm on the front and on the back, so it still fits in the original pouch that you get with it.

The rangefinder is a sensitive device that should not be dropped on purpose. This skin provides a layer of protection against moderate impacts and scratches, but do not expect miracles!

There are two versions of the projects (3MF files):

  • Novritsch Rangefinder Skin.3mf - case with a smooth handgrip
  • Novritsch Rangefinder Skin - Fuzzy.3mf - case with a fuzzy handgrip

NOTES

  • The fuzzy handgrip is not a part of the STL file - it is applied in the PrusaSlicer as fuzzy skin.
  • I recommend using organic supports, as they are easier to remove.
  • Printing in TPU / FLEX requires the filament to be dried beforehand, and very often results in heavy stringing, depending on the filament, and how you dial-in your settings for it. In any case, it requires significant effort to clean the print from the stringing.

IMPORTANT!!!

There are at least two different models of the Novritsch Range Finder, all with the same model markings! Before purchasing the model, ensure that your range finder is the same as the model this skin was made for. Check the position of the two buttons that need to be near the rear end (see the last two photos). The newer models have those buttons more towards the center, and this skin won't fit them!

3D printing settings

  • TPU / FLEX 82A or softer. I used Recreus FilaFlex 82A.
  • Enclosed are the STL model of the object and a 3MF PrusaSlicer project file with all the print settings that worked for me.
  • The 3MF file is NOT for use with any other slicer than PrusaSlicer! For other slicers use only the STL file!
  • I successfully printed it at 130% speed on my Prusa MK3S and the provided 3MF settings. Your mileage may vary!

  • 0.25mm layer height

  • Organic supports

  • 20% gyroid infill
