Virpil Desk Mount MFD Attachment

Description

This is a simple mounting bracket that allows you to mount a Thrustmaster MFD to the Virpil desk mount. The mounting angle is adjustable, allowing the MFD to be positioned vertically, or at an angle up to 20 degrees from vertical.

Several mounting screw options are available, and should be selected based on the user's abilities or access to required parts and tools.

###Mounting Screw Options:

####Off-the-shelf M8 Screws
You can simply use 4x M8 x 1.25mm thread screws an associated hex nuts. While this is probably the simplest option, especially if you have shorter M8 screws and hex nuts lying around, it will make adjustments a but harder.

####Fully Printed Thumb Screws
The file Thumb Screw M8 x 1.25 Thread All Plastic.stl is a fully 3D printed M8 x 1.25 mm thumb screw with threads. You will likely have to clean up the threads with an M8 x 1.25mm die. You can also print Hex Nut M8 x 1.25 mm Thread v1 if you don't have any M8 hex nuts on hand. It is highly recommended that you print the thumbscrews in PETG or another material with good layer adhesion.

####Printed Thumbscrew Caps with M8 Stud
You can create a more robust thumbscrew yourself by printing Thumb Screw Cap for M8 x 1.25 Thread Stud.stl and inserting an M8 threaded stud. This will create the nicest looking thumb screw without the fragility of the 3D printed male threads. You will likely have to clean up the internal threads using a tap, preferably a bottoming tap. You will also have to have the ability to cut threaded rod to length and clean up the ends.

####Printed Thumbscrew Caps with M8 Hex Bolt
You can print Thumb Screw Cap for M8 Hex Head Bolt.stl and insert a longer M8 hex bolt to create the thumbscrew. Note that the hex head will be exposed. This is a good option if you only have longer M8 bolts available, or don't want to go through the trouble of cutting threaded rod to length.
