Spike Flower Pot Planter Character Super Mario 3D World Bad Guy

Oh, no, not this guy! It takes perfect speed and timing to avoid the long, spikey, rolling logs this Super Mario Bros enemy tosses at you! Fortunately, this 3D Spike bears no ill will towards the 3D printing community! He's actually quite helpful - that is if you have any small plants you'd like him to hold onto.

That's right, this Spike is a Flower Pot Planter. Or pen holder, or whatever you want him to keep organized in his wide, gaping maw of a mouth. All it takes is a little size tweaking to get the most functionality out of him.

A Spikey Background - History of Spike on NES Platforms
As all Super Mario fans surely know, spike comes in a variety of colors and designs. It all depends on what game you take him from. Some Spikes throw pointy balls at Mario, Luigi, and other playable characters. Some (such as this one) throw long spikey logs.

We've chosen to model him, for the most part, from the version found in Super Mario 3D World, originally released for the Nintendo Wii U in 2013, and released for Nintendo Switch in 2021. the more observant among you will notice we left out his pointy shock of hair, mostly because it wouldn't fit (and didn't look right) with his head cocked so far back.

DIMENSIONS
At 100% scale, our Super Mario Spike Plant Holder measures:

X = 12.1cm / 4.8in
Y = 9.1cm / 3.6in
Z = 9.6cm / 3.8in

He prints great at 50%, 75%, and of course 100%. You can definitely go bigger if you want.

OPTIONAL DRAINAGE HOLE FOR PLANTS
Spike comes in the STL files - one with drainage holes and one without. Being a planet, you would think drainage holes should be a given. However, you may not want drainage holes if you're planting something that doesn't need a lot of water, such as a succulent or cactus. So, we give you the choice. Print wisely :-)
