3D model description

Transition piece between 5 degree camber and flat-on-ground – 175mm long (half straight) - slot car track and borders to suit Scalextric. Outer support wall built into the design. Kerb tiles are printed separately to allow different colours.

I have printed the track-pieces on edge in a Creality CR-10 3d printer. The print is 175mm high, 325mm long and 59mm wide. I use 0.45 layer height and 0.45mm width, using an E3D Lite 6 extruder with a 0.6mm tip. Slice on Cura. Using PLA plastic. All parts are designed to print without additional support except for "clip". The track-piece will print without support when printed on edge.

Two of the files say "w toes" at the end. That's the ones I use. The toes keep the ends on the bed and are cut off after the print is finished.

Post processing steps:
β€’ clean up track piece.
β€’ attach 2 clips using PLA welding.
β€’ sand track smooth next to slots using sandpaper glued to "sanding wheel".
β€’ attach adhesive backed copper foil to act as rails for electricity. Continue the foil in under the track.
β€’ attach adhesive backed copper foil to "connector"s.
β€’ paint border area if desired (biege in photo)
β€’ interweave coloured kerb prints (red and white in photos). Glue into channels.
