3D model description
Designed as a transport for my Silent Sisterhood models, the Caemphe Pattern Acquisitor is intended to represent a vehicle frome an earlier stage of the great crusade, where the null maidens were not such an established force on their own yet. I thought it would make sense to assume the equipment they used would be more similar to that of the custodians, modified to their own purposes, rather than having entirely different vehicles for themselves.
From a playability perspective it should have roughly the same dimensions as the original Kharon Pattern Acquisitor and the same base size, 170x105mm.
The kit offers some versatility and modularity when building, with a lot of moving parts that can be kept unglued with the use of magnets. The options are (as shown in the final pictures) the following:
- The assault ramp, consisting of four pieces, can be opened and closed. With the use of eight 3x2mm magnets and three 5x2mm this can be changed at any point.
- If no magnets are used, "magnet fillers" files are provided, with the above dimensions.
- The vehicle is hollowed inside, both to save resin when printing it and to show detail when the assault ramp is open.
- The cells can be detached from the vehicle, something I thought would be desirable since the SIlent Sisterhood would presumably contain rogue psykers in them, who have the potential to cause a lot of damage, so in this way they can be dropped before their brain explodes, they summons a greater demon or whatever other unexpected mishap. If the cells are not attached to the vehicle, the clamps can be glued in different positions.
- The cell doors can be glued open or closed.
- There is a choice of two inner weapons, either a Cannon-Melta or a Cannon Array, which have holes designed for 3x2mm magnets so they can be swapped out.
- The missile launcher can also be glued open or closed.
- Since I was not sure if the flying stand would make the vehicle stable enough (even though it goes deep into the hull and has 3 contact points to make it quite sturdy), I also added chains that hang from the cell compartments to the ground, acting as extra stands as well as giving the vehicle some feeling of movement. However, they can be replaced by empty hooks if a different look is desired.
The kit is divided in several pieces that have to be printed once each, with the following exceptions:
- Choose between the Assault Ramp Top and Assault Ramp Top Magnets depending on weather you plan to use magnets or not for assembly.
- Print 6 times the Cell, Cell Door and Cell Clamp pieces.
- Either print 6 times the Chain 1 L & R and Chain 2 L & R pieces or print 12 times the Chain Hook pieces.
- Only print Magnet Fillers if you are not planning on using magnets.
- Only print one of the two cannon options if you are not planning on magnetising them to swap them out.
The infantry model shown in two pictures is only for size comparison and not included in the kit, but is available separately here.
