There are several varieties of winged kobold that may occur based on the genetic origins of the kobold species. There are some kobold groups that are consistently winged. The “Urd” kobolds, for instance, almost always hatch with wings. Even amongst the common normally wingless kobold there can sometimes, though rarely, be found a winged individual. Such cases are rare, and are seen as omens of impending good fortune for their tribe. As such, these “Dragonwrought” or “Wrought” kobolds are often raised to positions of power and authority within their communities. Here is one such dragonwrought kobold, portrayed in the act of preparing to skewer an opponent.
