3D model description

Variants:
- Dart blaster: is able to shoot standard foam darts, does not have back sights.
- Non firing: does not shoot but can load and cycle shells, has back sights and decorative parts instead of the blaster components.

Files for both variants are included, see below the files exclusive to each variant and print only what is required:
- Dart blaster: clamp, seer, slide-top, slide-bottom, slide-extender, trigger-rod
- Non firing: front-sights-low, back-sights, back-rail, ornamental-top, mid-sights, raised-sights(2)

The DMT is a replica lever-action, shell-ejecting, foam dart blaster that replicates the mechanics of a real lever-action rifle while being able to shoot only standard foam darts. This is a toy, not a real gun.

The item is almost entirely 3D printed and makes use of the internals from an off the shelf toy dart blaster (elite 2.0 Commander RD-6). The mechanism is not suitable for heavy use, this is more of a showcase piece to display on a shelf or for cosplay, but it is functional and can be considered an educational tool for the lever-action in general without the need of an actual rifle. And just like the real thing, it can jam, especially if the shells are damaged, but they can be removed by hand if it happens.

Notes:
- The only tools required for assembly are a 2.5mm and a 4mm hex key (allen key).
- The display stand is included
- The blaster fits 6 shells when fully loaded (5 in the tube, 1 in the chamber). The shell 3D model is available to download for free in case replacements are needed: https://www.printables.com/model/525683-shell-for-the-dmt-foam-dart-blaster

Operational instructions:

- Each foam dart should be fully inserted in it's shell
- The lever-action can function normally with empty shells without the dart blaster parts
- Loading each shell in the tube requires it to be pushed all the way in up to the thumb cutout
- To operate lever correctly it needs to be pushed all the way out until it "clicks" and then pulled all the way in until it locks closed
- The lever only unlocks when pushed from the locking handle
- Do not operate the lever too fast or with excessive force, the mechanics could jam when moving the shells from the loading tube to the barrel

Printing notes:
- All parts have been printed successfully on a Prusa Mk3 and printers with a similar bed size should also work
- Mechanical parts that move and interact with each other should be printed in PETG for durability
- All parts can be printed at 0.2 mm layer height

Additional components:
- The plunger, spring and tube from and elite 2.0 Commander RD-6
- Fishing line, used to pull the follower in the loading tube and from the trigger to the plunger release
- The spring and drum from a retractable reel (like a keychain or id card) used to pull the follower
- 2 small compression springs (max 10 mm in diameter) for the lever action catch and for the lever release
- A couple of rubber bands to hold the plunger release and to keep tension on the trigger rod
