Knob Shells or Thumb Screw with Cap

I like the versatility of these for the simple reason that I don't have to have a supply of different sizes and lengths. I can make them on the fly and they are not has heavy as an all metal version. Excellent for drone applications.

Use these profiles to create custom thumb screw hardware. Put your own 4-40, 6-32 or 8-32 OR metric sized hardware into a suitable shell and you can use this for many purposes including the item shown in one of my previous projects (Buzz Practice device) as an example or the one pictured here. Knurls on Knob are easy to grip.

Nest Cap and Knob in your printer set up. Caps come out a bit rough due to the resolution of the printer and the size of the part however once snapped in place on the knob, its hard to tell there is even a cap there.

6-32 version conceals the nut on the bottom when capped with a flat washer. The 8-32 version uses the shell as the nut however, use a lock washer under the screw and tighten securely for both knobs.

Overall dimensions including cover are the same for both knobs 15.5mm x 14mm

Print time: 39min depending on nesting, infill density quality settings etc.
PLA, I used Dremel for the original versions: extruder 220C, room temperature bed (25C), 60mm/s, cooling fan on. Infill at 95%.
